NYC Tech Week 2025

Updates from our team, veraniando en nuevayol
Our team had a great time participating in NYC Tech Week 2025. As usual, a great opportunity to connect with interesting founders, investors and operators.
This year had a great variety of events, we had a hard time splitting our time to cover ground and make the most of it. We wanted to share some highlights here, as well and some learnings that are already influencing our strategy, and new partnerships we're excited to announce when they flourish.
Farming, sustainability and agTech
It was encouraging to see other companies in the sector, mature corporations, startups and entrepreneurs in residence sharing ideas for more resilient distribution and storage.
Sustainability showed up in many conversations about new materials, near shoring, carbon capture and forest reserves. Damage mitigation, insurance calculation and better weather tracking are still trending topics.
Startup investing landscape
At Carta we enjoyed a conference full of insights by active VCs and wealth managers. It was exciting to hear frank advice by ecosystem builders interested in supporting their founders. SAFE agreements continue growing as a popular fundraising tool.
While fundraising is taking longer the same principles apply, review your fundamental business metrics, storytelling and approach investors as humans interested in collaborating. A successful company starts with happy employees and clear agreements from the start.
Fun NYC summer
Si te quieres divertir, solo tienes que vivir, un verano en Nueva York
Don't skip the happy hours and social opportunities. Many speakers and eager collaborators are found in casual environments, and New York City blooms in summer with its diverse culture. We specially enjoyed the latinx happy hours, and JustWorks AI stack event.
Legal office hours
A big component of our innovation at farmday are the legal contracts and structures that will allow us to offer an investment vehicle for international farms. The friendly lawyers at Fox & Rothschild sat with us to share about their startup package and important things for us to consider.
We recommend taking advantages of similar opportunities whenever possible, some Manhattan firms can be intimidating with their beautiful city views, but many of them understand the way startups work and want to partner with exciting ideas.
Going forward
We have some internal reflections to do, as well as follow up with multiple potential partners and investors, we're excited to share good news soon!
